We understand that it takes some time for your baby to adjust to the outside world and to learn how to feed. For some newborns it helps to add thickener to breast milk or formula to make it easier for your baby to manage their swallowing and digestion safely. This Small Teat size is comfortable in a newborn’s mouth and offers the universal benefits of the Sepal contours. The Medium Flow rate allows your little one to comfortably suck the thicker liquid.
Small Teat Medium Flow might also suit your baby if they are showing frustration with the Slow Flow option. Moving up to the Medium Flow rate (if they have no swallowing difficulties) may better satisfy their hunger demands.
Developmental Stage
Full-term babies to 5 months of age who require thickened fluids
OR babies who have a strong safe swallow and want a faster flow rate to meet hunger demands.

After a sample Sepal teat was given to me in hospital for my newborn, I knew I could trust them. The sepal bottle tests make feeding easy. It’s great having a colour coded system as my twins are on different flow rates. Both have taken to these really well

Have been through three different sizes all great
Had my very first preemie after 3 full term children. These teats were offered by the hospital for preemie babies! I just had to get my hands on the brand and wanted to stick to the same ones he got to start with. We've gone from the white extra slow teats right through to now the yellow medium flow rate. I can easily tell when he's getting frustrated and needs the next size up. Easy to clean and love them. Only down side is when you sterilize with steam it reduces the flow rate by 15%.

We're also so happy to see you've carefully read the care & use instructions regarding the change to the flow rate. We just wanted to clarify that this change only happens on the first sterilisation and feedback we have received is that babies do not notice this change. You could also use cold water or UV sterilisation as these options do not affect the flow rate.
